About the course

Across four modules, Vanessa Henry discusses play therapy with Joseph Driessen, gaining insight into the principles of therapeutic play and its role in supporting tamariki wellbeing.

We then deepen our understanding of how play therapy can support children’s diverse needs during the critical early years, and highlights the vital role teachers play in fostering secure relationships, with a strong focus on attachment and trauma-informed practice as pathways to healing.

Finally, we bring theory into practice through examples of play therapy, including symbolic play and mirroring, equipping educators with practical strategies to support emotional expression, connection, and resilience in young children.
