Anita is a qualified early childhood teacher with 20 years’ experience in the early childhood and tertiary sectors.
In 2018 she founded Growing Kiwi Gardeners with a vision to enrich young children’s lives through gardening. Growing Kiwi Gardeners supports early childhood services to embed gardening in their curriculum.
Growing Kiwi Gardeners offers a range of services and products to support kaiako to garden with tamariki:
- In-person gardening programme for centres in Christchurch
- Online course to support kaiako to garden with children in their own centres
- Tailored whole-centre professional learning and development to help equip kaiako to garden with tamariki
- Young Gardener bilingual vegetable flashcards and memory game
- Garden gloves for small hands and bottle top watering nozzles
