About the course
This podcast featuring Donna Berry (Interplay Developer) and
Donna Stichbury (Relationship Facilitator), explores the importance of
attachment and connection in ensuring Tamariki thrive in education and develop
regulated behaviour.
They explore together how ‘you can’t give what you haven’t had’ and how relationships are at the centre of learning. Tamariki who have poor attachment with caregivers who don’t have the knowledge or experience to give them what they need, often display behaviours and dysregulation.
When working with behaviour challenges, we must also work with the caregiver and as teachers and parents, lean into uncomfortable feelings and behaviour and help Tamariki feel safety in fear.
